Description
Authentic Casa Grande Pottery with Certification of Authentication Included (see last Photo). This unique pottery is in excellent condition considering its age estimated to be 1205 to 1400 AD ( per the certificate of authentication).
Paquime, better known as Casa Grandes, was a major cultural and trade center in the NW region of today's Chihuahua state for hundreds of years before the arrival of the Spanish in Northern Mexico. Casa Grande is known for its remarkable pottery. Today residents of the neighboring village of Mata Ortiz create pottery inspired by Casa Grande's work.
It does have one scratch on pottery shown in photo six above, but no cracks or repairs. It is 6" Tall, 25" in circumference, 4" at top opening and 7 1/2" in diameter. It is not signed as it was not usual to sign pottery during this era. It appears to be a Seed pot as there are two holes on either side of the top opening. The photos above reflect all sides, top & bottom. Please review to make sure it meets your approval. It is a true Collectors piece and does include a pottery ring.
