Description

Welcome to
Antiques & Moore!
This listing is for a fabulous 19th Century brass and iron hearth trivet.
This early trivet was designed to hang on the inside of a fireplace fender to hang a kettle or pot out over the fire to keep it hot.  Due to the ornate design in the brass trivet, this was probably used in the home of a more wealthy individual.  The brass has nice patina and has not been overly polished.
The trivet measures 7 3/4" wide and 7 3/4" long. The iron arms measure 5 1/2" wide and 7" long with the rounded piece measuring 9 1/2" long and 4 7/8" wide.
This is an especially nice hand-made trivet in excellent condition for its age.  The rounded end is slightly bent and there are two bolts that have been replaced with newer ones, no other flaws. The piece was purchased in England and dates to the early 1800s.
We welcome International buyers, however, please be aware that we as sellers can not be responsible for any random Customs inspections or charges incurred with this purchase.
