    Description

CARAPAN, MEXICAN FOLK ART GALLERY SINCE 1950.
ABOUT THIS TONALA BURNISHED CLAY PIECE
    This exclusive
canelo pottery piece was created by
Mexican folk art master Pablo Pajarito
, one of the most renowned artists from Jalisco. He has received many awards and his work belongs to the most important museums and private collections of
    Mexican folk art
. The pot depicts on each side a Nahual with a stripe of Mexico's flag colors. Pablo is heir of the renowned
    Nicasio Pajarito
and his pieces belong to the most important collections and museums of folk art such as Mexico’s National ceramics museum. The speciality of Pajarito family is “
    barro canelo
”; a type of clay that is painted using only mineral pigments from the soil of
    Tonala
. Such pigments give a particular reddish tone to the piece
