Mexican Michoacan San Jose de Gracia Folk Art pottery. Green glazed Piña or Pineapple lidded jar, sculpture, candle holder. Three rounded feet at base. Mirror-glossy dark green glazed exterior, with glossy reddish brown interior. Reddish-brown earthenware ceramic body. Unmarked, unsigned, no labels or tags. Purchased directly from the artist in San Jose de Gracia, in January, 2020. In VG condition with two clean repairs to the leaves of the lid, which were there when we purchased the piece but did not notice, and which are very difficult to see. Measures approximately 13 inches tall lidded, 7.50 inches tall without lid, 3 inches in diameter at the top opening, and 7.50 inches in diameter at its widest point. Weighs approximately 5.25 lbs. Will weigh between 8 and 9 lbs packaged.
