Mata Ortiz   vase or pot  made by Octavio Andrew.  Beautifully hand painted with a Geometric design Size is 3" tall and 5.5" wide.  Gorgeous pot and a great price.   Our prices are low because we live not far from the border of Mexico.  Artists stop in the gallery often with the pottery.  Check out all of our wonderful pottery.  ----  In a small town called Juan Mata Ortiz in the state of Chihuahua in the Country of Mexico exists an artist colony like no other.  The inhabitants of this unique town have revived   an ancient Mesoamerican pottery tradition, pottery inspired from the ancient city of Paquimé. The pots are hand-built without the use of a potter’s wheel. Shaping, polishing and painting the clay is done entirely by hand.  All materials and tools originate from supplies that are readily available locally. The preferred fuel for the low temperature firing is grass-fed cow manure or split wood. Each of these characteristics derive from the ancient pottery traditions of the region.  The rejuvenated art of ancient pottery making in this small town is called Mata Ortiz.  Mata Ortiz ware incorporates elements of contemporary design and adornment. There are over 400 artists who make up this artistic undertaking all of whom are dedicated to creating pottery using the ancient civilization techniques.  Each potter or pottery family produces distinctive individualized textile. Each design is original and unique.  This blend of cultural expression, and artistic freedom has produced an exclusive artistic movement in the community.  This simple pottery is accepted and admired as a legitimate folk art, and has become highly collectible.  Moreover, pieces have found notoriety in museums throughout the country.

We do not ship internationally.
We usually use USPS for shipping, and we usually ship first class or priority mail, except with larger items which may be sent economy.
We track all parcels.
Your purchase will be inspected as best we are able to find any flaws, but please notify us as soon as possible to let us know if we missed something. They will be carefully wrapped with care to ensure safe arrival at your home or place of work. However, if it is not signed for by you it does not mean we do not have a record of the delivery.
We do not profit from shipping but remember the shipping includes the packaging which is sometimes extensive and expensive depending on the protection needed to get your purchase to you safely & undamaged.
Returns
We will refund the cost of any item if returned within 30 days if it does not fit or even if is not exactly what you want.
When returning an item you must package it in suitable good condition packaging so that the item returned to us reaches us in the same condition as when it left us.
We sell mostly mostly overstock items and shelf pulls from department stores or store returns. We inspect all items as well as we can, but if we missed a flaw of some type. Please let us know so that we can remedy our mistake.
Also If for some reason you feel as if the product was not represented fairly then please contact us and we will do our best to make sure that we make it right with you. We value our reputation and want you to give us good feedback.
If it is not an items with free shipping, we will not refund postage because we have paid this out of our pocket unless, of course it is our mistake or our problem. We will however cover your postage fees to send the item back to us.
