    Description

    This listing is for #Q20 "BIRDHOUSE PLAIDS",  a NEW  Rag Quilt / XL Throw.  This Quilt has three layers - Cotton  Top, Flannel Center and Cotton Backing.  This Quilt has over 13 yards of Fabric in it. The Quilt Top is made of 52 Patches and one Panel. The Panel is machine quilted to the center  & backing and each square has an X sewn through the three layers.  The Patches/Panel are sewn together and the seams and outside edges are clipped every 1/4" to create the ragged look.  The last picture shows the Quilt Back. The Panel and the Print Fabrics are called Just Be Cuz. They are created by Folk Art Tole Painters.
    PLEASE READ: Rag Quilts are not as thick as a regular Quilt that uses fluffy battings, but they are slightly heavier in weight.

    This Quilt has been washed once to start the ragging process. The clipped edges and seams will continue to get fluffier each time you wash it. Different types of Fabrics are used in each layer. These Fabrics have a different rate of shrinkage when washed which creates the wonderful puckers and crinkles, just like the vintage Quilts these are patterned after.
    Please look at pictures carefully. They are considered part of the description. You will receive the item pictured.
    We have a non-smoking, Dog Friendly Home, but the Dogs don't help me sew very often!
