was all hand made and hand painted by Jose Juan Garcia Aguilar.
Jose Juan Garica Aguilar is the very talented younger son of Josefina Aguilar.
In recent years Jose Juan has established himself as one of the premier sculptors in the world of Mexican folk art as is evident by the detail and color tonalities in his work.
She measures approximately: 5 inches tall by 4 1/2 wide and 2 1/2 inches deep.
This whimsical folk-art figure is a fine example of a time-honored traditional handicraft called muñecas, but with a modern twist.
The Aguilar family are world renowned clay figurine folk artists from the village of Ocotlán, Oaxaca
, Mexico. These artists capture the joyful celebration of everyday life and cultural traditions of pueblo life in Mexico.
His pieces are crafted from locally collected clays then fired in a pit kiln before being meticulously painted.
