Original Paramount Pictures Original Insert Poster (14x36) for the Norman Taurog musical comedy, BLUE HAWAII (1961) starring Elvis Presley, Joan Blackman, and Angela Lansbury. Just out of the army, Chad Gates (Presley) is happy to be back in Hawaii with his surfboard, his beach buddies, and his girlfriend. His father wants him to go to work for the family fruit company, but Chad goes to work as a tour guide for his girlfriend's agency instead. The soundtrack is probably Presley's best with the big hit "Can't Help Falling In Love With You." The soundtrack spent 20 consecutive weeks at the #1 spot on Billboard's Top LP Chart in 1961-62 and stayed on the charts for 79 weeks. This original insert poster is known as the "surfboard insert" and is difficult to get now. There's probably one on every ho-daddy's wall on the west coast.
