Description
This is a large "Box Type" coin depicting Ludwig III King of Bavaria. Basically an aluminum 2 part shell with a folded up, colorful, circular paper inside with illustrations from the World War I era. Measures about 52mm and is about 9mm thick. Has a somewhat crude, cast appearance and a gray-silvery appearance. Very nice illustrations of the siege of Belgium, cannons, graves, airplanes, Zeppelin, etc. and all are still intact. A really wonderful piece that must be seen to be appreciated fully. Grades about an XF or so. Only about the third one of these we've had and the first with the paper intact. Should be a real bargain for the collector of WWI or anyone who can appreciate history and the unusual. Remember that our low opening bid also includes the costs of shipping the item. Please see the photos to judge the condition of the item.
