    Arpillera Quilt 3D Peruvian Tapestry Textile Art 36" x 36" Women Harvest Time
    This hand sewn Arpillera depicts women in a scene that appears to be showing a harvest time.  It has vibrant colors and mixed materials and a red crocheted border.  In excellent clean condition.  There are no hooks on the back for hanging.
    The Arpillera originated in Chile in the 1970's as a form of expression.  They were made by poor women and women who were left to support their families when the men "disappeared" or were "detained" by the government.   They told their stories through their handwork.  The women told of their fears and concerns, or they would show life as they wished it was.
