Description

This is quite a piece of history going on with this Cobalt Blue Ironstone Jug with Golf ~ Golfers ~ Golfing made by Copeland Porcelain and Pottery for R.H. Stearns of Boston in 1891, when you consider that
The first 18-hole course in the United States was in The Chicago
Golf
Club in Wheaton, Illinois, in 1893. The governing body of
golf
began as the United States
Golf
Association (USGA) in the year 1894. This piece really is a statement that Golf was here to stay in the United States.  This is a remarkable well designed and executed mug with a lot of vibrant scenes going on; quite a difficult piece to make.  It's barely over 6" tall and is 6" wide; there is a repair to the lip that could have been more well done and a very tiny bit of glaze loss on the tip, but, otherwise, it's in beautiful condition. We hope you enjoy !!!!
